This durable felting needle is suitable for all areas, but is slightly more robust than the medium strength needle. Nevertheless, it is important to keep the needle straight when inserting and removing it so that it does not break. The fine hooks on the needle, which function like inverted harpoons, cause the wool hairs to become entangled. This needle allows for very precise felting, even of small details. We recommend using a firm foam pad as a base, e.g., a 4 cm thick sheet of our medium-firm foam for back cushions AM30 (300.017), which you can order from us cut to any size. For felting projects at school, we recommend a felt plate size of approx. 20 x 20 x 4 cm at a price of approx. CHF 3.50.
